Culinary Media Retreat

In 2019, I planned and facilitated a “foodie media retreat” for Visit Bucks County to coincide with the inaugural Bucks County Food & Wine Festival at PARX Casino. Visit Bucks County invited an array of traditional media professionals including Instagram influencers and bloggers who were most interested in the trip.

Social media has fundamentally changed the way travelers are researching and discovering destinations. Influencers inspire everything from lodging to itineraries.

The trip was filled with food inspired activities that showcased Bucks County as a destination for foodies looking for farm to table cuisine in a beautiful setting. Influencers and bloggers were selected on their audience and engagement analytics with a goal of targeting millennial travelers looking for a getaway weekend outside New York & Philadelphia.

Over 3 days, the retreat resulted in more than 400 posts and stories shared to Instagram by both attendees and hospitality partners with a combined reach of 215,000 and more than 10,000 likes. In that time, the @VisitBucksPA Instagram account grew by more than 700 followers and reached an audience of 30,000 on its stories.
